The run up to Christmas at the DVC was extremely hectic with the centre hosting 5 Christmas parties for all different age ranges in the community.

All the funding for the celebrations and parties came from both the Local Neighbourhood Fund (LCC) and Northern Railways.

Party 1

This was a children's party for our partners from The Liverpool Childcare Network. The children dressed up, had lovely food, played party games and danced to music.

Party 2

The LFC Foundation worked in collaboration with us to host an afternoon Christmas cream tea for all the elderly/vulnerable adults that participate in our Chair based Yoga & Cookery sessions. We had around 15-20 people attend who all enjoyed their afternoon.

Party 3

The Deysbrook Village Centre facilitated a big breakfast special for all the centre users who access 1 of our 3 Pantry sessions. All were given a free breakfast of their choice and a gift of festive cake or biscuits.

Party 4

The centre facilitated a pensioner 2 course, full Christmas dinner for 75 pensioners/vulnerable adults and 10 staff.

There was entertainment provided by a singer, local choir & charity bingo. A lot of fun and dancing took place.

At the end of the day, on leaving, each person was given a large tub of sweets as a gift from us.
