Sad Passing of Deysbrook Village Centre Charities Deputy Chair of our board of Trustees, Marie Furlong
It is with great sadness that the Deysbrook Village Centre announce the very sad passing of one of the founding members of the Deysbrook Village Centre Charity, Mrs Marie Furlong. Her funeral will take place on Saturday 24th January 9am at St.Timothys Church (Rockwell Road), Followed by Cremation at Anfield Crematorium at 10am. Exciting Changes in Deysbrook Village Centre Pantry in 2026
The Deysbrook Village Centre have entered into an exciting partnership with Knowsley Mutual Credit Union which will have massive benefits to all our pantry/centre users. The credit union have been a presence in our centre on a tuesday-thursday for the past 2 years. Qualified Level 2 & 3 Youth Worker
The Deysbrook Village Centre are very proud that Clare Peters, our Youth work apprentice completed both her level 2 and 3 diploma in Youth Work and has been offered a place at John Moores University to go on the level 6 Youth Work Diploma. Clare's apprenticeship salary was paid for by all of the councillors in the West Derby Deysbrook and Yew tree wards. Deysbrook Village Centre Winter Play Scheme 22nd, 23rd 29th & 30th December
The Deysbrook Village Centre team (funded and supported by MPAC) facilitated a winter HAF(half term activity and food) play scheme. The chidren who joined us had the opportunity to engage in lots of fun, stimulating and exciting sessions. The group were also treated to a fantastic day out at Ninja Warrior (themed play centre). This session along with many other physical sporting activities enabled the children to exert their energy in a fun way.

Deysbrook Village Centre Hampers & Toys 23rd December
This christmas in collaboration with Liverpool Football Club, the Deysbrook Village Centre were able to provide 20 family hampers and 10 small hampers to single adults living in the Deysbrook/Yew Tree communities. The family hampers consisted of Christmas dinner (includng meat ad vegetables) and a lot of fresh breakfast food items. There were also chocolate treats and toys for the children. Pantry Big Breakfast 16th December
The Deysbrook Village Centre have made sure all of our centre user groups have been included in our festive celebrations. The people who attended our twice weekly food pantry have also been involved in our centre celebrations. On Tuesday 16th December our cafe was providing free large breakfasts to all pantry users. This was the Deysbrook Village Centre's opportunity to both wish our pantry users Happy Christmas but also to say thank you for your support over the past year.

Childrens Christmas party 12th December
This year the Deysbrook village centre had our usual children's christmas disco with lovely food, Childrens entertainmentand plenty of party games with prizes. This year our very creative team were able to turn our pram store into a fantastic Grotto for Santa to meet all the very good children who came to the party. Pensioners Christmas Party December 11th
The Deysbrook Village Centre absolutely love this time of year and one of the highlights of the Christmas party period is our pensioners/adults christmas 3 course meal. This was a big event and this year we are pleased to say we were able to provide a cooked christmas dinner to 92 people. Chair Yoga 10th December Christmas Celebrations.
Deysbrook Village centre host a Chair based Yoga session once a week in collaboration with LFC Red Neighbours (1 hour per week) and this session is extremely well attended and has been running for over a year. The people attending this session have become close friends and share a whatsapp group to communicate. They wanted to spend some time together to celebrate the festive season. Tai Chi Christmas Celebration 9th December
The Deysbrook village centre host a Tai Chi session (once a week) in collaboration with LFC red neighbours. This session has a really good mix of ages and the participants get on really well and in order to ensure they had the chance to celebrate the festive season the Deysbrook village centre put on a small christmas party for the group. We provided food, hot drinks and music to enable them to be involved in the centres christmas celebrations.

Christmas food donation to St Lukes/SMARTYs family Christmas Hampers.
For the past three years Deysbrook Village Centre have been able to support another local charity with a large food donation, which is used, by them to provide 40 hampers to local families. The community group is facilitated in St Lukes Church and is called SMARTYs. The Deysbrook Village Centre are proud to be partners with this community group and are happy to help by providing food towards their hampers.

Toddlers Christmas Party Dec 10th
In September 2025 the Deysbrook village centre once again began to facilitate a free parent and toddler group and it has been growing in numbers since. This group had a lovely Christmas party and Santa visited the children to give out christmas gifts to all the children. Pensioners day trip to Bury Christmas Market November 26th 2025
The Deysbrook Village Centre organised a subsidised day trip for our pensioners and adults service users to Bury Christmas market. A Coach of 48 people participated in the trip and a great time and lots of shopping was had by everyone.

Exciting New Service At Deysbrook Village Centre
The Deysbrook Village Centre are pleased to announce that in January 2026 we will have the services of a member of the Citizens Advice Service (1 day per month) they offer advice and guidance to the people of West Derby Yew Tree. The Deysbrook Village Centre will have the exact date and the CAB will start (in Jan) and the process people need to follow to book an appointment. ASDA Refurbishment
The ASDA Foundation kindly provided funding to the Deysbrook Village Centre to carry out very much needed maintainance, decorating and provide our centre users with a Pram/Mobility scooter shed. This funding has been a lifeline to our centre because it has enabled us to repplace the very dated decor, carpets and lights and provide a much needed external shed. The Deysbrook Village Centre hosted our annual Halloween fancy dress party/disco for 1-11 year olds. The party was free to attend for children and the parent/carers and food was provided for all. This year we had a magician/disco entertaining the children and a lot of fun was had by all.

Deysbrook Half Term Play Scheme
The Deysbrook Village Centre were funded by the LNF (local neighbourhood fund) Liverpool City Centre to facilitate our October half term play provision for local children aged 5 - 11 years. Our play scheme was facilitated from 8:30am - 12:30pm. All the children were provided with breakfast, snacks and a hot lunch. Asda Foundation Funding
Deysbrook Village Centre are delighted to share our good news about funding we secured from the Asda Foundation. Recently the Asda Foundation provided our centre with much needed funding to 1) Decorate and Carpet our entrance hall and the training room. 2) Install new LED lighting throughout the centre. 3) Build a pram/Mobility scooter store for our centre users. Family Half Term Hampers
The Deysbrook Village Centre in collaboration with the Liverpool Foundation gave out 15 half term food and snack hampers for our local families. The hampers provide families with additional meals and snacks for their children during school holiday time and are a lifeline for many people. The funding for the additional food in the hampers from Deysbrook Village Centre is provided by Feeding Liverpool and the LFC Foundation.
