The Deysbrook Village Centre celebrated VE (Victory in Europe) over the 7th/8th May with our centre users by having a day out to Bury Market with our pensioners group on Wednesday 7th May and on the 8th May (the 80th year celebration of VE and end of the second world war) by decorating the centre and treating all visitors to the centre with an assortment of treats and cakes.

Our community cafe provided a 1945 breakfast (which cost 1 shilling, 6 pence in 1945) for todays equivalent at 18p. There was also a hot lunch of Corned beef hash at 6p.

Both meals were very popular and enjoyed by all.

The Bury Market trip coach was paid for by our local councillors, through the LNF fund.

A big thanks to everyone for making both days so special.
