Cross Community Work

Wednesday 21st August was National Senior Citizen Day and in order to celebrate and recognize the tremendous experience, knowledge and life that our senior citizens bring to our communities the new Liverpool City Council Area Manager Gail Goodwin organised an event called Question Time

This event was held in a community centre called Brookside House. The Deysbrook Village Centre were asked to both ensure our senior citizens attended the event and we provided a beautiful cream tea for 80 people. Riverside housing generously donated the funding to buy the food for the cream tea.

Gail Goodwin invited various statutory and voluntary agencies, in order to speak to the 50/60 senior citizens that attended the event. these agencies included Police, Fire service, Social housing landlords, Debt advice workers, energy advisors and many more.

A fantastic time was had by all and the over whelming consensous was that everyone wanted the event to be a regular occurance.

A massive well done to Gail Goodwin from Liverpool City Council.
